Eylül Fidan Akıncı is the House Dramaturg of Theater a/d Rijn since September 2023. She received her Ph.D. in Theatre and Performance at The Graduate Center, City University of New York. Akıncı writes about, teaches, dramaturgs, performs, and curates across theatre and choreography, maintaining her own artistic practice with Taldans company.

In her dissertation "A Girl Is a Thing," Akıncı analyzes the dramaturgy of objects and nature in contemporary choreography through a feminist lens, which was awarded by the Dissertation Year Fellowship of The Graduate Center. Her research areas include dramaturgy, contemporary dance, physical theatre, objects and materiality, ecocriticism, biopolitics and necropolitics, feminism and sexuality, and continental philosophy. She has taught seminars, master classes, and workshops on dance and theatre theory/history, dramaturgy, improvised movement and writing, public speech, and spoken poetry. She has organized international symposia, conferences, public talks, and screenings in both academic and arts institutions.

Akıncı is currently based in Arnhem, having spent significant parts of her life in Izmir, Istanbul, New York, and Brussels.
